6 months

I cannot believe that it's been 6 months since Riley was born. I remember how scared I was bringing him home. I didn't know if I would survive my first day alone with him when Jeremy went back to work. After 6 months, we have a nice routine in place. Riley has 2 teeth and sits up like a big boy now. He is trying so hard to crawl. He just scoots around the pallet, but really loves it when he can hold onto our fingers and stand up. He is eating solids, but he hates peas. I've tried so many times to get him to eat peas and it's just not happening. He continues to smile so big and those teeth just shine! I love them! It still is so hard to go to work and leave him every day. I hoped it would get easier, but it hasn't. I miss him so much. Just seeing a new baby makes me remember when Riley was just born. I can't imagine what I'll do when he is 16 and I see a baby.
The emotions of being are mom are unreal. No one can ever explain them to you. The smallest things are exciting. Believe me, I never thought I would be so territorial and protective over Riley. Jeremy and I get critized from time to time about the way we do things or how protective we are. All we know is that not everyone does things the same and if were honestly were doing something wrong we wouldn't have a happy baby. It just gets frustrating when EVERYONE has advice and you don't even ask for it. Anyway, enough of that.
Riley has really taken to his Jumperoo. Sometimes I think he is going to jump out of it because he uses such force. His 6 month well check-up went great. 15lbs and 3 oz 26 1/4 inches. I'm so crazy that I've already started looking for his Halloween outfit and thinking of his 1st Birthday theme. I can't help....I'm a planner. His hair is getting thicker all around. He had a lot when he was born and it thinned out some, but not much. Now, it is getting more even all over his head. He got his mouth washed out with soap the first time....no not by me. When I was giving him a bath, I didn't move quick enough and he stuck his hand in his mouth with baby soap on it. Riley didn't like it! He looked at me and cried and then just stopped all of a sudden. I couldn't help but get tickled at him.
