Lunch Outing

Well, Riley had his first official lunch outing with another baby and friends!! He slept the whole time until it was almost time to go. We met Julie, Ashley, Dustin and Emma for lunch at Panera Thursday. It was so fun! Emma really enjoyed it I think...she didn't know who we were and was like hum...I've not seen you all before. She is just too cute! Anyway, I have posted the pictures we took from then and some others. Enjoy!

6 week review!!

Well, 6 weeks have past and I can't believe how my life has changed so much in that time. It changes every day. I had my 6 week check-up today. I have lost all of my pregnancy weight and then some. Yeah!! She said everything was fine and was so excited to see Riley. The picture on here of the 3 of us was after she had taken some with her camera and he was not happy about getting woke up from his nap. I have to say that without her and Jeremy I would have went crazy during my pregnancy. They both know my personality so well that it scares me. I'm happy to say that my blood pressure was NORMAL!!!
We've had a bout with the formula again and this time I believe we are on the right track. He has a sensitivity to the cow's milk and we are on Similac Alimentum, which is really broken down so he doesn't have to try so hard to digest. He weighed 10 lbs even and was 22 1/4 inches long on Friday. Some of his pants are still too long, but we will get there! He enjoyed his first Valentine's Day at Granny and Popa's. In addition to the vocal noises he started making a couple of weeks ago, he laughed last week for the first time. I almost cried. I had to call Jeremy at work and tell him. He does it more and more, but sometimes it's loud and sometimes is soft. I love it. I can't believe half of my leave is up. He has changed so much since he was born and our "normal" changes daily. Strangely, we adjust and go about the day. He is still sleeping 4-6 hours straight at night, which I am thankful. I do wonder when I will wake up and have had 6-7 hours straight sleep. I have no idea how long it normally takes for a baby to grasp sleeping through the night. I know that every baby is different, but sleeping through the night and the final color of his eyes are still a mystery to us.

One more thing...

I meant to add this to my blog before. We had our first family photos done. You can view them at:

Also, my little boy is being very vocal today...he is just talking in that baby talk and I love it!!!

One month old!

Well, my little sweet pea was a month old on February 5th. I can't believe how fast a month has gone by. Before I know it, I will be going back to work. YUCK! The past weekend was so beautiful. On Friday, Jeremy and I had a date night without Riley. Oh it only last a couple of hours...no way was I leaving him overnight somewhere yet. Saturday we took Riley out and we were gone all day. He even had his first bon fire. Well he watched the fire from inside Chris and Stacey's house. He was pooped out Saturday night. It was pretty much the same on Sunday. We just wore the poor little guy out this weekend. It was so nice though. Yesterday I had him outside a few times. We spent some timg swining on the front porch and he sat in his jumperoo on the back porch for a bit and then after a nap he joined Daddy and Uncle Jason outside for some guy time.
When we went to the doctor on the 5th, Riley weighed 9lbs and 13oz. I couldn't believe it! I had some concerns about his spitting up and stomach aches; so they tested his poop and it was positive for a milk allergy. We've had to switch formulas. The first one they told me to get he wouldn't eat and he was so mad. Now we are on Soy and he is doing just fine and is the happy baby I know. He also doesn't cry during bath time anymore...I think he really likes them now. Last night he just sat there and looked at me like it was the most amazing thing in the world.
Oh and I can't forgot this...Sunday he watched his first TN Lady Vols basketball game!! Honestly, I have no idea what the final score was...I was just making the point to let him watch TN and rub it in Jeremy's face. I know he probably couldn't even see the TV really good and maybe was just concentrating on the noise of the TV, but it didn't matter to me.
We're planning on taking a short trip before I go back to work with just the 3 of us for a few days. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Riley finally has out grown two pajama outfits, but he still can't wear some of his pants. They are too long for him right now. Oh the excitement of a baby!!

Tummy Time

Tummy Time wore my little sweet pea out.

Is it me or have I just been taking a lot of pictures the last few days?? I can't help it. Riley has been very alert since birth, but the last week or so he has started making noises and cracking these "half" smiles. I'm anticipating any day to get the real deal smile. He is staying awake longer during the day. I never realized how much he really slept when we first brought him home. The last two weeks he has only been taking about an hour nap at a time and then he is up until time to eat. We are still on our 4-hour eating schedule which I love at night. We're wondering when he will actually sleep through the night...meaning for longer then 4 hours at a time. Some people say it just happens all of sudden...I sleep so lightly I would probably wake up and run to check to see if he is breathing if he slept more then 4 or 5 hours. All in all, it really isn't that bad. There are nights that he doesn't sleep solid, but that just gives Riley and Mommy time to bond and talk while Daddy sleeps. We are leaving him alone with someone else other then ourselves today for the first time. Oh, it's only Nana and Powpaw. We're going to do our taxes and I didn't want to take him into the tax place. It will only be about an hour or so, but my mind will not be on my taxes. Riley has a check up appointment on Thursday and gets a shot for the first time since the hospital. Oh my, Mommy is going alone and has to watch all by herself!!!

A White Ground Hog Day...

Okay, so I had to take him out for the snow...we only were out for about a minute and he had two layers of clothes on. He was only two weeks old the last time it snowed and I couldn't take him out in that! It is still snowing really big flakes...I'm loving it!!!

It's Bath Time!!

Here are some photos of Riley's bath Thursday night. It was the first one I did by myself!! We had a good time...he didn't even cry on Mommy. The other two are from our visit to Granny's this weekend. Friday night he was a night owl...he was awake from 8PM until almost 1AM!! He was waiting on Daddy to get home I think. It was the first night he has ever done that. I was so exhausted and scared that he may have switched his nights and days, but he hasn't. We went to Sam's for pictures on Saturday and I can't wait to them. They went okay, he was cranky when we took his clothes off for the pics. I think he did well though. Sam kept telling us how beautiful he was and I was just thinking to myself...I know!!
He has started making these little noises now and they are so cute. Today he made them for Uncle Jason and Aunt Missy. They were so excited. Riley got to meet his cousin Brett this weekend. They hit it off and Brett just played with Riley. I can remember when Brett was a baby. I feel old. He will be 13 this year. Anyway, I hope you like the pictures. Oh and if anyone hasn't seen it...Fire Proof is awesome!!!! Jeremy bought it for me today.
