Spring/Easter 2010
I can't believe my little guy is 15 months old already. He has changed so much since he turned one. He can say some words clearly and then some are not so clear, but we know what they are. At the moment, we are going through another bout of teething. We have 4 teeth coming in! He has gotten a little temperamental in the last few weeks. I don't know where he gets that from! Okay, so he comes by it honest from Momma and Daddy.
His latest trick is dropping his mouth open and acting surprised. Riley is also a little dancing machine. He breaks out in a dance when he hears music or a cell phone going off. We can ask him where something is and if he doesn't know, he just throws his hands up in the air.
My favorite time of day with Riley is at night. He and I read a book and drink milk before bed. He is so sweet. He just lays in my lap and listens to me read. When I'm finished he usually flips back through some of the pages and points at things, which I tell them what they are. He jabbers when he does it so I think in his little way he is trying to read to Momma. It really is cute. Now that the weather is nice, I cannot seem to keep him inside. He wants outside 24/7. Also in the last month, he has went from two naps a day to only one. There are some days when he just gets to tuckered out that he slips a small second nap in.
He amazes me every single day. I can't believe how smart children can be. I had bought this outfit for Riley and told him we had to put it in his room. He took the outfit and went straight to hang it up. You just don't realize how much attention they pay to you when you are talking and doing stuff. I can't wait for it to really warm up and take Riley swimming. He LOVES the water. I think if you gave him a bucket of water, he would play for hours.
Here are some things that Riley says:
Momma
Momma
Dadda
Tat (Cat)
Tow (Cow)
Mmooo
Duck
Dah (dog)
No
Ooohh
Bye bye
Dat (that)
Dis (this)
Huh?

Riley's 1st Birthday!
I don't even know where to start...I guess I could say sorry for not posting the last few months. Things have been so busy around the Sharp house. Blogging just doesn't fall on the top priority list anymore. We had Riley's 1st birthday party today. His birthday isn't until Tuesday. It went great and I can't believe he is going to be 1!
I remember so well this time last year. The Saturday night before I went to the hospital Jeremy and I watched Bad Boys II in our bedroom. We knew it would be our last night home "alone" and that within 24-48 hours, we would be parents. I can tell you thought, being parents and being Moma & Daddy are 2 different things. I can't even imagine our lives without him. I remember so well the way it felt to have him in my ribs and on my bladder. I can honestly say that I loved every minute of it. Every time I look at him my heart melts...even if he pitches a fit in the store or test my every patience! He is so amazing. Still daily he does things that amaze me.
He started crawling a week after he turned 7 months old and started walking a week after he was 10 months old. He is all over the place!! I love it! He babbles so much. His favorite word is Daddy. Just recently he picked up the term "Huh?" When we talk to him, he will just look at us and say, "Huh?" It's so cute. He said "Pop" for the first time yesterday and today he said "Tae" for his Aunt Tae.
I'm so glad we had a "Big To-Do" birthday party. When I was making out my list, it quickly grew and I knew that it was my only option. Inviting our closest friends and family turned out to be just shy of 50 people attending the party today. I can't say enough how blessed and thankful we are. We have the greatest people in our lives!
There were some people that didn't make it and they missed! I would have loved for everyone to get to share this day with us. I promised Riley a trip to get a Happy Meal Tuesday and another cake from Moma & Daddy!
He really is going through this loving stage. He will just lay his head on me and kiss me. He is so sweet! I was so depressed about his party. I know that's silly, but I have teared up several times the last couple of weeks thinking about it. Time has flown by so fast. If 1 year flew by this fast, how fast will 18 or 25 go by?? Words have left my mind and mouth....all I can say is how much I love Riley and wouldn't change a thing!
